Afterthoughts

This elephant was extremely fun to construct. Getting the muscle structures in place, and really shaping the body as a whole was a big learning experience. While ZBrush still isn't my favorite program in the world, and probably never will be, I now have an understanding it's basic interface.

I am aware of a couple things with the elephant that I didn't do. First, no toenails; second, no tongue in it's mouth; third, no tuft of hair on the end of its tail. Past that, I think overall I did a pretty good job.

more Zbrush issues

managed to get to the Maclab to start texturing the elephant...BUT, just my luck, every time i go in and make fine details both ZBrush and Maya decide to lock up and close on me. If anything, I'll just go with a silhouette of the elephant with no color/texture.....not really, but still....

Elephant

After a lot of work in both Maya and ZBrush, this is the elephant I've constructed. I'm working on applying the skins color and texture, along with the eyes and tusks color. The second photo is the texture I'll have applied to the skin, giving it a wet look, as elephants are often seen in waterholes bathing to keep cool.

Praying Mantis: Abandoned...for now

After some careful consideration, I realized that modeling the praying mantis was a bit more than I could take on, so I decided to start on an elephant. I've got it modeled and ready to work on in ZBrush already, too. I'll have screenshots up soon.

Tutorial Posts 3

I'll put the remainder of the tutorial screenshots up at a later time.
